If You've Got It, Go Flaunt It

Yep, you read that right, if you've got it, go flaunt it. Celebrities. They all flaunt their stuff. Whether it be their pretty face, long legs, sexy look, actual talent or their network of other celebrity connections. They flaunt it. People accept it, even want it. That's how they make a living.

Then you have the every "normal" people you see walking around. They flaunt too. Some people are extremely funny, they know it, they flaunt it. Others realise that amongst "normal" people, they've got the body that the general mass wants, they flaunt it (sometimes too excessively). Still others, they figured that they possess a slightly higher IQ than normal so they flaunt that fact too.

Now why am I talking about flaunting? Because in the last two weeks, I've been told by several people to go flaunt it. Flaunt your nice curves (thank you friend ==") . "You look nicer with your hair down" - go flaunt it.

Really?? Why? Because it makes you feel more confident. Because it's something that you should be proud of. Because it's a positive drawing force for people towards you. Because it can get what you want.

Hmm... I'm still questioning that philosophy. I think being low-key is a pretty humble trait to have.

So true to form, I came to think of another way of interpreting the title and this is perhaps something I live by.

You know, besides the good that we have, we also have the bad. Nope, unfortunately perfection is something that we all strive for but will never achieve. Fact of life.

Perhaps people should learn to flaunt their bad sides too. I tend to do that rather often. In fact, I think it's a good thing to do. Flaunt all your badness at the beginning and it can only get better from there. I like that idea and I prefer to stick with it. For example, I flaunt very openly my absolute utter laziness. I also tend to flaunt my tomboy-ish character (according to said friend, this is bad). I like to flaunt my last-minute-ness, I am very proud of what aI have done despite my last-minute-ness (except right now this is driving me nuts). Come to think of it, maybe I should flaunt a bit more my not-so-talkative nature.

I think too much flaunting will become monotonous. That's why I don't usually flaunt the good stuff because that way I can keep it as good stuff in people's eyes for a longer period. And this works in the opposite way with the bad stuff, if you flaunt these bad traits enough, people will get used to it and it'll become normal.

I know, I'm weird but I still think it's a nice concept.

Poop, I'm sick >< The greatest time to get sick too, right before finals. But I've got this. I believe you can will anything into existence and I'm going to will this bug into non-existence. So please excuse me while I have an epic stare-off with this bug. I'm going to win, because I can't afford to lose.

  1. Having been a huge flirt and a wallflower at some points in my life, I'd say screw flaunting or hiding and just be whatever you feel like being at the moment. Unless you are PMSing. In that case just sleep it off b/c you'll only kill everyone around you.

  2. This fucking terrorist...
Anyway, I agree with him. The life is a game of multiple periods and subgames. Each one can have different rules. And you can choose them when you host the game. I use to say at this point "you are the owner of your decissions and its consecuences". If you add the life randomness you get the famous "destiny". And if you add "modulating" your behavior, you get different roles.
You don't need to stuck in flaunting every hour until you die. Just choose some times to flaunt. Think that it's an experiment. You wanna affect others or control their actions with a very small effort. That's power. You can always choose how to use that power. You can get favours or free drinks, you can make others feel happy, etc.
In the two last weeks, I wanna see as many times as possible a sexy Rui dressing to impress,... and without horsetail please ;D

  3. Oh, I forgot!
And yes, you flaunt unconciously of your originality and uniqueness. Sometimes, that is even better than being hot.
Anyway, you reminds me to my sister :) And in fact, she knows that my main role is being lazy, slow and childish. I'll tell you during this days, ok? ^_^
Anyway take care and get better! I want you ready by Thursday!

  4. I definitely believe in flaunting the bad, especially when it comes to possibly love interests. I'd rather get it all out there and see if someone still wants me, then go from there. I really don't want to waste my time and my heart on someone who just finds something they don't like in the end that's a big part of me.
